What is Solar Panel?

Solar panels are the system that converts light into power that is used to operate devices. The solar panel is a collection of solar (or photovoltaic) cells, which can be utilized to produce power through the photovoltaic effect. These cells are orchestrated in a network like an example on the surface of solar panels. Solar panels are very robust as compared to alternative power sources, they wear out quite slowly.

Solar panel viability diminishes around 1 to 2 percent a year which means after the period of five years, the solar panels will still be making more than 90 percent of what they made at the beginning of the period. Solar panels like- Luminous solar panel, Geo power solar panel, and Trina solar panel are some of the most preferred solar panels across the Delhi NCR region.

Types of Solar PV system

1. Off-grid system

An Off-grid system is a system that is not directly connected to the grid hence it requires battery storage. This system is designed suitably so that it will create enough power consistently and have enough battery ability to meet the home's necessity, even in the profundities of winter when there is commonly significantly less daylight. This system is mainly used in those areas where there is a high power cut or more than 2-3 hours of a power cut. For instance, Ghaziabad, Noida, Gurugram, etc.

2. On-grid system

The On-grid system is a solar power generation system which is directly connected to the utility grid. The power generated by the system is steered to the grid from where it is utilized to run the different appliances. The establishment of the equivalent additionally objects free and simple to keep up. The On-grid system is for those individuals who want to save some money and reduce the monthly charges.

3. Hybrid system

The hybrid system is the combination of ‘On-grid & Off-grid’ which helps the individual to reduce the bill by saving electricity. And it also stores the energy which is generated during the day and using it at night. When the stored is exhausted, the grid is there as a backup, allowing the consumers to have the best of both worlds.

Types of solar panels

There are primarily two types of solar panels are:

1) MONO-CRYSTALLINE SOLAR PANELS

2) POLYCRYSTALLINE SOLAR PANELS

MONOCRYSTALLINE SOLAR PANELS

These types of solar panels are the purest. The standard dark look and the rounded edges make them easy to recognize. The high purity of the silicon allows this type of solar panel to have one of the highest performance values, with the newest over 20%. Monocrystalline panels have high power efficiency, less volume, and last the longest. Of course, that means they 're the bunch's most costly too. Another benefit to remember is that the elevated temperatures seem to impact them much less than polycrystalline panels. These solar panels' wattage is approx. 330-340 Wp each. But Monocrystalline solar panels are now being converted to monocrystalline PERC panels. This technology has vanished now.

HOW IS MONOCRYSTALLINE MADE?

Both are made of silicon, of course, but making monocrystalline is a procedure that is far more complex. Monocrystalline is made using the Czochralski technique, named after the Polish scientist who invented it serendipitously after mistakenly plunging his pen into molten tin rather than ink. The method is to rotate a solid crystal of silicon seed while gradually withdrawing it from a pool of molten silicon. This method produces a pure silicon block consisting of one crystal only (thus the term monocrystalline). The block, or ingot, is then cut into a rectangle, producing a lot of silicon wasted. The square of silicon is then cut into consistently shaded wafers and collected into the trademark monocrystalline sun based board design.

MONOCRYSTALLINE PERC PANELS

Monocrystalline PERC cells are a new Solar Power invention. PERC panels stand for Passivated Emitter and Rear Cell. It increases performance by allowing more free movement of electrons, and also by increasing the reflectivity of the back of solar cells. Geopower has the new solar panels and they're more costly. We give 72 cells of the same capacity, 370–380 Wp. Soon, the wattage of these panels was expected to increase to 400 Wp. MONO PERC Solar Panels are the latest name in the solar panel industry supplying the high efficiency and reliability which Geopower manufacturer in its own plants.

POLYCRYSTALLINE SOLAR PANELS

This form of solar panels has circles, its angles are not cut and its color is blue and spruced. They are delivered by melting raw silicon which is a procedure that is snappier and less expensive than that utilized for monocrystalline panels. This leads to lower final price but also lower productivity (around 15%), lower room capacity, and reduced lifetime because high temperatures impact them to a greater extent. However, the distinctions between mono- and polycrystalline solar panel forms are not so important, so the preference would depend heavily on your individual case.

Such kinds of solar panels occur at Geo power and are commonly used as standard installations. Our Gold pack is selling the 72 cell version with 17% or more capacity. Polycrystalline solar panels wattage is approx. 325-340 Wp. We, at Geo power deliver different choices such as Waaree, Vikram Solar, Adani Solar, etc.

HOW IS POLYCRYSTALLINE MADE?

In addition, polycrystalline processing is fairly straightforward. A solitary silicon crystal seed and liquid silicon are placed into a square shape and permitted to set. The silicon cools at differing speeds as the outside cools quicker and thus sets first. The uneven setting brings about the arrangement of a few distinct crystals (thus the name polycrystalline) and gives the panel a shimmering, diverse look.

NEW SOLAR PANEL TECHNOLOGY

1) BIFACIAL SOLAR PANEL

Traditional solar panels obtain sun rays on one side that absorbs light and merely reflect light energy that can not be captured. That is not the case for bifacial solar panels-instead, all sides have solar cells on these types of panels. It allows both the rear and front panels to absorb light. The bifacial solar panel can absorb the reflected sunlight from the ground or any other material. The wattage of the Bifacial solar panel is approximately 400 Wp or above.

2) HALF-CUT CELL SOLAR PANEL

Half-cell modules have solar cells split in two, thereby enhancing the efficiency and reliability of the panel. Half-cut cells performance-wise will improve panel efficiencies by a few percentage points. And despite higher output rates, half-cut cells are more mechanically resilient than their conventional counterparts; they are more resistant to cracking as they are smaller in scale. Half-cut cell solar panel Wattage is approximately 400 Wp or above.

The Solar panel is a collection of solar cells and these small cells spread over a substantial area can work together to provide enough power to be useful. There are some key players in the solar systems industry. For instance- Geo power is a key player and a well-known name in the solar sector. Geo power was founded in 2016 with a vision of delivering renewable power which will lead the way for lean, green, and peaceful and maintainable energy solutions for the world.

Geo power is associated with some of the national as well as international brands like- Luminous, GeoPower, Trina, etc.

GeoSolar a unit of GeoPower India Pvt Ltd. is a key player in the Solar Industry. Established at a time when Solar Revolution is picking up steam, we at GeoSolar have a vision to lead it from the front.
